Charities
“Let your light shine.” Matthew 5:16
As a church school, being charitable is an important part of our Christain role in society. We support a number of organisation, chosen by our Ethos Team, both locally, nationally and internationally.
- Children In Need/Red Nose Day
- Sight Savers.
- MacMillan Cancer Support
- Willow Wood Hospice
There are many bible verses that mention being charitable, we have chosen a passage from Corintheans at it aligns with our school vision, ‘to have a good moral compass.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver
Children in Need
A non-uniform day, helped us to raise money to ‘Help make life lighter for children‘
Longdendale Food Bank
We support our local charity by collecting tins and jars for the food bank during our ‘Let your Light Shine’ Assemblies, which are held monthly.
Willow Wood Bunny Hop
Everyone had lots of fun and we raised an incredible sum of over £978, which is amazing for such a small school.
Overseas Charity
This year we chose ‘Sightsavers’ as our overseas charity. The Ethos Team made this decision because we love reading at Broadbottom and the pupils were horrified to find that some children are afflicted by poor vision.
